Learn more about open access journals, self-archiving, journal hosting, open access books, and who to contact for open access publishing support.

Open access publishing can extend the reach and potential impact of your scholarly activity by making works freely available to others online. It is also required by most research funding agencies, including the Tri-Agency. The information below is here to help MacEwan faculty members get started.

Visit Sharing Your Research [add link] for additional guidance on sharing your scholarly activity and how the library can help.

No fee options

Search the Directory of Open Access Journals to find thousands of carefully vetted peer-reviewed journals that do not charge any fees to authors or readers.

Scholarship Support Grant

MacEwan faculty holding full-time appointments that include research and creative activity can apply to the Scholarship Support Grant through the Office of Research Services to cover article processing charges in open access journals listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (up to $2500 CDN).
